Here at Viridian Landscape Studio, we believe that thoughtful landscape architecture has the power to transform communities, restore environments, and support long-term wellness. We are proud to share that a project we contributed to, the Overbrook Environmental Education Center, has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection as part of the 2026 Keystone Awards.
The Overbrook Environmental Education Center (OEEC) received the Stakeholder Engagement Award, honoring its community-led approach to redevelopment. As the leaders of the design team for Philadelphia’s Overbrook “Farmacy” & NatureWorks project, we were integral to the collaborative effort to reimagine a historically impacted site into a hub for environmental education, green infrastructure, and neighborhood wellness. Through extensive remediation and meaningful resident engagement, this project reflects the power of design rooted in equity, sustainability, and community voice. Go Overbrook!
